Dottie Rambo, first lady of Gospel music went to be with her Jesus May eleventh, two thousand eight. Miss Rambo's tour bus crashed while on her way to a Mother's Day performance. Tragically Miss Rambo survived 74 years of life's storms but lost her life to an unfortunate accident.
Dottie Rambo was a beloved friend and a legend in the Gospel music community. She wrote more than 2,500 published songs during her 74 years. She wrote such classics as "Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome In This Place", He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need", "Sheltered In the Arms of God" and "We Shall Behold Him."
I have enjoyed Dottie Rambo's music since I was a child. I first "discovered" her when she sang Bill and Gloria Gaither's song "He Touched Me" which swept the country during the 1960's. I look forward to meeting her in Glory. Until then I have the memories of her wonderful songs, songs that still touch my heart and soul today.
I'll leave you a link to Dottie's website.
